Kendall Jenner admits that she is completely obsessed with health and wellness. In fact, she says she’s a self-confessed ‘hypochondriac’, referring to her love for hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) dives. Her very expensive health and wellness room includes a Vitaeris 320 hyperbaric chamber – which has been known to retail as high as $23K.
Jenner says, ‘For the past couple of years, I’ve been just really like loving health. I don’t know, it’s become an obsession,’ adding she is a ‘major hypochondriac.’
Jenner says that she stays in the chamber for an hour or more, and while in the chamber she usually watches a movie or works on laptop (as seen above, as she exits the chamber in her health/wellness room).
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy was first introduced in the early 20th Century and used prominently in the 1940s to treat deep sea divers from compression sickness. It would later be used to help treat carbon monoxide poisoning, cyanide poisoning and various crush injuries, but in recent years, celebs such as LeBron James and Justin Bieber, to name a few, have been plunking down big bucks for a hyperbaric chamber in their home. The chambers are used by athletes to boost performance and speed up the healing process, and by celebs as an anti-aging treatment, with other health benefits including increased energy and stamina, optimized cellular health, better wound healing, improved cognitive function and pain relief.
