Abstract: We conducted a randomized, double-blind, controlled clinical trial to determine whether hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) improves gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy. Forty-nine children aged 3 to 8 years with spastic cerebral palsy were randomized...
Abstract: Germinal matrix hemorrhage (GMH) is a potentially devastating neurological disease of very low birth weight premature infants. This leads to post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, and mental retardation. Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) treatment is a broad...
Abstract: We have always been searching for the ideal local anesthetic for outpatient spinal anesthesia. Lidocaine has been associated with a high incidence of transient neurological symptoms, and bupivacaine produces sensory and motor blocks of long duration....
Abstract: The objective of this study was to systematically evaluate the effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapy including acupuncture, tu'ina, oral herbal medicine, herbal bathing, and collateral-channels conduct therapy for treating children with...

Abstract: A systematic review of the evidence was conducted on the benefits and adverse effects of hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBOT) for cerebral palsy (CP). Studies of any HBOT regimen in patients with CP were included except for case reports and case series....

Abstract: This article reports the side effects observed in a double-blind placebo-controlled multi-center randomized clinical trial carried out to assess the efficacy and safety of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) therapy in children with cerebral palsy. Intention-to-treat...
Abstract: Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy has been used to treat patients with numerous disorders, including stroke. This treatment has been shown to decrease cerebral edema, normalize water content in the brain, decrease the severity of brain infarction, and maintain...
The study is to evaluate the effectiveness of hyperbaric treatments and the potential
longer-term effects in children between the ages of 3 and 8 years with spastic cerebral palsy
(CP). One group will receive 100% oxygen and the other group will receive the equivalent of
21% oxygen (room air). The children will receive pre-treatment testing (baseline). After 40
experimental treatments are completed, the children will be retested at 0, 3, and 6 months to
evaluate any changes.
