When Dr. Morton Altwerger contracted COVID-19. He feel extremely ill and ended up in the ER. The illness progressed and he was at risk for being ventilated. Dr. Altwerger knew the mortality risks for being vented all too well, so he opted to breath the supplemental oxygen through a hyperbaric oxygen chamber hood.
After spending 13 days in the hospital, with four of those days spent in the oxygen hood – without the use of a ventilator, Dr. Altwerger went home where his oxygen levels gradually improved.
