Carbon monoxide poisoning still places a burden on the healthcare system worldwide. While
oxygen therapy is the cornerstone treatment, the role and practical modalities of hyperbaric
oxygen therapy (HBO) remain controversial. This study aimed at comparing one session of HBO
at 2 absolute atmosphere followed by 4 hours of normobaric oxygen therapy to 6 hours of
normobaric oxygen therapy in adult victims of acute domestic carbon monoxide poisoning and
without coma.

Anesthesia for TURP Using Duplex Ultrasonography: Comparison of Normotensive and Hypertensive
Patients.
Clinical Trial – Assessment of 3M Oedema Reduction System in the Treatment of Lymphoedema Compared to Commercial Short-stretch Bandage
Objectives. The primary objective of the study is to assess volume reduction in the treatment
of lymphoedematous legs and arms with compression bandaging.
Secondary objectives:
– Assessment of safety
– Quality of life
– Health economic parameters
– Slippage
– Subbandage pressure
Clinical Trial – Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Treating Long-Term Gastrointestinal Adverse Effects Caused by Radiation Therapy in Patients With Pelvic Cancer
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy can cause long-term adverse effects. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
may be effective in lessening gastrointestinal symptoms caused by radiation therapy given for
pelvic cancer. It is not yet known whether high-pressure oxygen is effective in treating
adverse effects caused by radiation therapy.
PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying hyperbaric oxygen therapy to see how
well it works in treating long-term gastrointestinal adverse effects caused by radiation
therapy in patients with pelvic cancer.
Clinical Trial – Functional and Anatomical Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of Chronic Brain Injury and Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO2) Study Subjects
The purpose of this study is to evaluate Brain MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), and Brain CT
(Computed Tomography) Angiogram data in subjects who participate in the "Hyperbaric Oxygen
for Chronic Stable Brain Injury" (HYBOBI) study. Including information from MRI and CT
studies provide information about whether hyperbaric oxygen improves brain function in
subjects who have had a brain injury. Subjects will complete MR and CT scans twice during the
study. The first MR and CT will be performed prior to the first hyperbaric session of the
HYBOBI study, and the second will be performed within two weeks following the last hyperbaric
session.
Clinical Trial – Outcome Following Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Children
Carbon monoxide poisoning is common. Many adults with CO poisoning have long-term, even
permanent brain injury following poisoning. However, very little is known about the long-term
outcome of children with carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. In this study we plan to perform
cognitive (thinking) and vestibular (balance) testing in children (ages 6 to 16)at 6 weeks
and 6 months following CO poisoning.
At the 6-week visit, if the child and parents agree, we will ask each child to provide a DNA
sample by one of three methods: mouthwash, spit collection, or swabbing the inside of the
child’s cheek. Each child’s DNA will be analyzed for genes that are known to affect outcome
following brain injury.
Clinical Trial – Comparative Study Between Hyperbaric Therapy and Intravesical Dimethyl Sulfoxide Instillation for Interstitial Cystitis
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to
intravesical Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) instillation for the treatment of patients who suffers
from Interstitial Cystitis / Painful bladder syndrome.
Clinical Trial – Postoperative Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments to Reduce Complications in Diabetic Patients Undergoing Vascular Surgery
This trial aims to evaluate if hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBO) given postoperatively is
effective in reducing healing time and wound complications after lower extremity bypass
surgery in patients with diabetes.
Hypothesis: Postoperative HBO treatment is effective in reducing complications in patients
with diabetes undergoing peripheral vascular surgery
Clinical Trial – Different Approaches to Maternal Hypotension During Cesarean Section
The aim of this study is to compare two different therapeutic approaches to blood pressure
reduction: pharmacological vs. non-pharmacological. The setting is that of patients
undergoing scheduled Cesarean section under spinal anesthesia and suffering from aorta-caval
compression syndrome, which causes a sudden drop in blood pressure.
Clinical Trial – Efficacy of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in the Treatment of Osteoradionecrosis
The purpose of this study is to determine whether hyperbaric oxygen therapy is effective in
the treatment of osteoradionecrosis (late damage after radiotherapy) of the jaw.
